I lost my mother today

So tonight, at work my father came in looking for me. He informed me that my mom was missing. Instantly I said to him I know where she is. She was dead. I wasn’t sure and was hoping for a less bad scenario of a car accident or a car breakdown and no service. Later through the night I decided to look on Facebook for anything about my mom. The first thing I see is a woman’s body was discovered in the river. Instantly I knew that was my mom, so I called my dad to let him know so he could let my sister know. Within forty-five minutes a description was released that matched my mom. Instantly my heart sank and I didn’t know what to do with myself, all I knew is I had to leave work.

See my mom had been missing since 7am that morning and her husband didn’t want to get the cops involved, me on the other hand got the cops involved instantly. After leaving work I began call the cops from the location she was found and eventually got to the State Police. The officer said she didn’t discuss this type of matter over the phone and would come to my house. So, I gathered everyone: my dad, my sister, my mom’s husband and had them come to my house. The entire time waiting for the cops all her husband could talk about was she was having an affair.

I was also given the task of calling all of my mom’s brothers and sister to let them know. All I wanted in this moment was my mom back and a chance to say good bye.
